Our new series of heritage apps ‘Walkabout” is soon to be launched, the first being based in St Ives.  This location aware app uses a mixture of Cornish archive film, photographs, art and local stories to reveal a deeper tale of people and place.

The Tre Project continues its tour across Cornwall screening rare archive material and beautiful new locally made films. Tre will be visiting St. Ives during the September festival, Lamorna Village Hall and Carleen Village Hall.

The first show in September during the St. Ives September Festival will launch awen productions cic’s new exciting venture ‘Walkabout : St. Ives’ a heritage trail on your phone! Find out more how this location-based app uses a mixture of archive film, art, photography and storytelling to explore St. Ives’ rich social history and cultural heritage http://walkaboutapp.co.uk.

Tre’ is a Cornish word for ‘home/homestead’ and the evenings will delve deeper into Cornish local life. The tailor made shows with specially selected archive film reflecting each of the areas will be a unique opportunity to look at Cornwall’s exciting screen heritage.

Footage is as early as 1904 and the tailor made programme includes new short films ‘Ghosts of Godolphin’ made with Shallal Dance Theatre and ‘Pen sans’ by Barbara Santi.

The shows are made possible with support from Heritage Lottery Fund, Feast, South West Film & TV Archive, St. Ives September Festival and Carn to Cove.
